We purchased this book for our niece. We did note that some of the subject matter might be questioned for certain ages (e.g. orgasms, dancing getting you laid, and morning wood). I found no recommended age information, nor was I aware of this subject matter when I preordered (it's very likely I didn't research thoroughly, as I am a fan).I will note that these are all natural aspects of life, and nothing objectively negative for a younger child to be exposed to. The terminology used in that presentation might be questioned (some may prefer formal terminology over informal), and the potential social ramifications of having a child educated in such matters could, sadly, be an issue, however. My wife and I are fine with it, but our niece's parents and grandparents have different opinions than we do on some things. Just something to think about.

This book explores the type of questions that usually only a kid would ask, and digs deep into giving an in depth answer that that same kid would understand. It's good for the curious, regardless of whether they are science illiterate or hold one or many PhD's in STEM fields. Granted, many things are oversimplified, but given the circumstances and the general atmosphere in which this book is meant to be read, I believe the guys at Asap Science made a great product here.Unrelated to the book itself: I got myself the Kindle version and yet it wasn't compatible with my eReader device (Kindle Paperwhite), so beware if you are getting the soft copy.

I did a search for books for 8-13 year olds and this book popped up. My grandson loves science and always has questions about the unusual. I bought the book as a birthday gift for him. The book description talks about science and says it is a fun read. Thank goodness I leafed through it before giving it to him. This is an adult book and definitely not appropriate for anyone under the age of 21! The book description is not accurate and did not say anything about the adult content in this book. I'm sending it back.

LOVE THIS BOOK, it is essentially the AsapSCIENCE Youtube videos in book form. It's a fun, clever and easy to read to pick up and browse through and also to sit and read to feed your brain. I leave it on my coffee table and guests have fun looking through it. If you're a fan of the YouTube videos, this is definitely a must buy, and if you're a fan of knowledge, this is also a must buy. I do caution sharing it with children though as some are definitely fun for kids, there are some more adult topics you might want to clear with their parents first.

The book itself is super cute. I'm sure my little girl will love it. The condition however is horrible, how am I supposed to give this as a gift? It is supposed to be a brand new book, yet the cover is all screwed up as you can see in the pictures. I also feel really ripped off since I paid $8 for the book and the seller left the $5.99 Barnes and Noble Bargin Price on the front. I will NEVER buy from this seller again. Ridiculous.

MIddle school grandson loves books and is an information magnet. He loves this and walks around quoting the facts he learns until people freak out. It's so funny and I adore giving him good info to expand his thinking. Nice book. Nice printing and paper. There are serious facts and things that make him laugh out loud. Glad I found this book.

This is a true story book. It is heartbreaking this woman had to go through what she did. It shows a real side of what domestic violence survivors go through. How the court system fails families. It happens to too many people.

I don't normally read this genre, but a friend spoke about the book and how it gave context to what happened and that there was much more than the culminating murder of her son.We rely so much on the media for information when something like this happens and they at best provide a summary.Reading the details and timeline provide by Rosie Batty of who she is and why she reacted and still reacts to situations resonated with me. It made me realise that those exposed to domestic terrorism are already isolated and are made to believe that they deserve their lives. So finding out what help there is available and which type of help they need must be a daunting task and that due to their lack of self esteem they probably back away at the first hurdle.Those of us who have never had reason to seek professional help just assume that it is available to those who need it and more importantly that it works. The book highlights the disconnected truth and how at many junctures decisions if acted on by the professionals could have led to a different outcome for Luke.

Inspirational it is sad that Rosie Batty had to go through all of that before anybody took a . notice and by then it was too late . I cried buckets for this woman who tried every avenue she could to get the best for her son. ROSIE BATTY you deserved Australian of the year if for no other reason than your voice was finally heard.

I don't know how to rate this book. It wasn't a pleasure to read and not one I would normally read but it was on my book club's reading list. It is a very traumatic story. It was terrible to hear about it in the media as well as Rosie's telling of it. Rosie has been a tremendous advocate for family violence, and rightly so. The book emphasised that both she and Greg, the father of her child were let down by the 'system', but also the fact that the perpetrators of this form of violence know how to play the system, and how to present themselves (or not) at court hearings. At the end of the book is a list of the agencies and help which can be accessed for this type of violence. I am very glad I did read it.

My heart goes out to a truly unique mother

This book is fantastic. I couldn't put it down. I have recently completed advocacy training at a domestic violence shelter and this book explains the timeline of violence (starting with emotional) so well and in a way that reaches and educates people. For those people that say "why doesn't she/he just leave the violent relationship" I implore them to read this book.

How agonising it must have been for Rosie to write this story after already living through it. To be able to honestly document the beauty that she also had in her life besides all the pain and fear. Maybe just to remember the beauty at all after such a gut wrenching loss. Thank you for sharing this with us, especially those of us who also live with the guilt and grief of being a victim of domestic violence. And bless Luke.
